Fern 8 Printed Pillow
Thomas C. Blagrave, a retired lieutenant colonel from England created this comprehensive study of ferns in South Africa in 1860 and recorded his findings in a unique format. We fell in love with the textures of the photographic paper and the iridescent effect of the film while the fern patterns were kept stark, clean and true to their natural state.
Blagrave writes in the preface of the book: "The illustrations are photo prints made by myself at Wynberg, during the months of May, June and July, 1860, from fresh and dried specimens either of my own of Dr. Pappe's herbarium".
